I wanted to choose for this review an article that I saw like a couple of years ago that was just so fun.

It is from El Periodico El Ñame which it is kind of a Spanish puertorican version of the onion. The article Decepcionados Tecatos Que Se Matricularon En UPR: “La Beca Esa No Da Pa’ Coca Na’” which Translates as Disappointed Junkies that enroll in the UPR: “That Pell Grand is not really enough to buy cocaine”. And obviously in a very junkie slang and with a lot of humor, between lines what it does it is to criticize the expression of a politician at the moment that said that the students of the UPR use the money  they get from federal help to study to buy drugs, in the defense of the increasing the UPR cost of enrollment. The opening line I find it quite special although the entire text it is just to die for while laughing.

“En veldá’ en veldá’, yo no sé de dónde demonios sacaron eso de que al que estudia aquí le sobra pa’ comprar coca, ‘ocio: ¡esto no da ni pa’ uelel pega!”, declaró sumamente molesto Alberto Cátala Yerba, nuevo estudiante del recinto, al salir de su reunión de orientación sobre asistencia económica… “

Which can be: “seriously, seriously, I don’t know where the hell they got from that the ones that study here have some extra cash for cocaine: ! this is not even enough for smelling glue!” declared very angry Alberto Catala Pot, new student at the campus, after he came out of his orientation about economical assistant”

Here is the article; http://elname.com/2010/06/decepcionados-tecatos-que-se.html

I hope you guys enjoy it if you haven’t read it yet!

My feelings about Disney before watching the film were the ones from most of the people, Disney it is where magic makes everyone be a kid and be happy, just as their movies.

My initial reaction staring to see the documentary wasn’t skeptics because I try not to be. But reality it is that I was shock. I was in a way with the same attitude that the people that the producer say he encounter in the radio stations, don’t get me wrong I was trying to give it a shot but at the same time I got the feeling that they were like messing up with something they shouldn’t mess with, and not because of influences or something like that but because of it being something pure and original in my childhood.

I think they do have some points in terms of the company of the mouse having a huge monopoly, I mean if you think about it they are the Facebook of the media, or the Walt Mart of the media. Which definitely have to have a consequences with politics we want it or not, we know it or not. I mean wont you get your hands in it too if you were so powerful? But other than that I think that their thesis of Disney putting a  very old vision of woman roles it is over rated in their view. It is true but so is it that our children know better at the end of the day, and if they do not as parents we need to be able to clarified that and explain how that it is fantasy and doesn’t represent real life and point out the differences and such things, because in life there is a million of references anywhere where our kids caught Ideas and things they’ll incorporate as soon as they can and want to them, but it is up to us as parents to be able to manipulate that through them,  and not by not exposing them to those experiences because if not will create a human being not able to  be self sufficient at least in the way he choose what to think and what to believe and follow from life.

Both of the lists have a very strong social contact. The biggest different that I have down in bother of them it is that most of the things in personal problems have to be with things I have been able to see are not the same in other countries and therefore  I know that that shit (or problem) doesn’t have to be that way. In the social one there is a couple of things that can be classified as personal but to be completely honest I can’t stand them, I can’t discuss them in a conversation because I wouldn’t be able to deal with the situation of how  strong my arguments would be.

A song that I really really dislike it is Moscas en La casa from Shakira’s second Album Donde estasn los ladrones? I have had always hate it and I guess it was mainly because the entire Album I love it, but it was most of it Latin Rock, and that it is kind of a ballad which it makes me feel uncomfortable between the rest of the songs. Also I have the feeling that it kind goes the other way around in reference to the message of the rest of the lyrics of the album. I want us to remember that this was the album that send Shakira to the stardom (I meted her before she was actually famous in a plain, I can talk to you guys about this later in class!)  But the thing is that this particular song have a very low key message, so it is not only about the rhythm in the song but also about the same attitude toward what it says and it doesn't say. It is like approving that  woman have to be depress doing nothing if their man goes away. It is just lame the song and wrong in some many ways. Here is the Vid:

A fantastic song that I love It is You and I from gaga. I feel it works in so many levels, the lyrics  are actually quite personal if you notice, but as a metaphor from a good movie it is so deep that you can give it your own interpretation, but of how strong is it you can imagine that this can’t be less than a very personal song, which, I can’t say No to the fact that also  the lyrics are kind of direct in a way if you take some parts of it. I love that even when I most feel in some blanks or interpretation it tells me a story that I would love to heard.   It  sounds very gaga, very powerful and in contrast with the previous song it says, you know what I’ back, and things are going to be my way.
